The Cheb Municipal Sports Facilities Management Organisation, acting on frequent public feedback, has decided to enhance comfort and safety for one of the most vulnerable population groups – seniors and individuals with reduced mobility. This initiative will fundamentally improve access directly into the swimming pool. Newly acquired stairs, designed with the specific needs of these users in mind, will ensure that every visit to the pool is not only enjoyable but also completely safe.
We all know how important it is to have safe and comfortable access to the swimming pool, especially for the older generation who face a number of physical limitations. The new steps will allow seniors and individuals with reduced mobility to enter the water easily and safely. The steps are made from a material that guarantees a long lifespan, but also provides a non-slip surface, which is key to preventing accidental injuries.
It is also important to mention that these new stairs will primarily be used by seniors from the Sokol Cheb sports club. This club has a long tradition, and its members regularly participate in various activities that promote not only physical fitness but also social interaction and mental well-being. The option of easy and safe access to the pool will therefore certainly be appreciated during their regular swimming lessons. The stairs will, of course, also be available during public swimming sessions. For other clubs and swimming groups that use the Cheb swimming pool, there is an option to install these stairs upon request. This ensures that, even though the stairs are not permanently installed, they can be quickly and efficiently put in place as needed. This flexibility is key, as it allows sports groups and swimming clubs to adapt to the current needs of their members without disrupting the normal operation of the pool.
Notice: Following a trial period, the staircase will be open to the public for the first time from 10th October 2024.
