Since the beginning of this year, the new grant-funded organisation, Správa sportovišť města Chebu (Cheb Municipal Sports Facilities Administration), has taken over four major sports facilities in our town. The organisation is now responsible for the administration and operation of the sports and recreational area on the left bank of the Ohře river, the ice rink, the swimming pool, and the Lokomotiva sports complex. Of the sports facilities, only the small ice surface at the ice rink is currently in use, where junior ice hockey players and members of the Cheb figure skating club train while adhering to the implemented measures. Of the public sports facilities, the sports and recreational area at Krajinka is operational, with opening hours from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition to the general public, this facility is also used by athletes from the SKP Union Cheb club. We kindly ask the citizens of Cheb and other users of the sports facilities to observe all mandated measures.
The Sports Facilities Management is also launching communication channels to liaise with clubs, athletes and the public. Those interested can find basic information about the organisation at www.sportovistecheb.cz. Notifications regarding important updates will also be shared on social media. The organisation’s secretariat is based in the so-called ‘blue tower block’ (ground floor, doorbell number #12). Representatives of sports clubs can also contact us via email or telephone. All contact details can be found via the link above. A new booking system is also due to be launched in a trial version during the spring months. Its full launch is scheduled to coincide with the start of the new sporting season (August 2021). If circumstances allow, we would like to organise an introductory presentation of the organisation for clubs and the general public as soon as possible.
