In October 2021, a routine inspection of the bridge structures was carried out at the ice stadium in Cheb, during which several defects were identified. Based on these, a detailed survey of the wooden elements was performed. It showed that all three footbridges are in a condition where their use is not safe. An expert company ordered the immediate closure of all three bridge structures. The city leadership, in cooperation with the Cheb Sports Facilities Administration, is seeking ways to continue to ensure safe access to the grandstand of the ice stadium.
