Clubs, schools and other sports groups are just finishing this year's season at our sports grounds. However, this does not mean that Cheb's sports grounds will be empty during the summer. The last competitive matches for the FK HVĚZDA CHEB teams will take place on the artificial turf in the "Lokomotiva" complex next weekend. In the sports hall, the traditional and significant wheelchair table tennis tournament CHEB OPEN 2023 will take place on Saturday, June 10th. Cheb's sports grounds will also host other interesting sporting events during the summer.
Cheb will host the Czech U23 Weightlifting Championships.
The Lokomotiva City Sports Hall will host a very prestigious weightlifting event on Saturday, 17 June 2023. The Czech Republic Championship for weightlifters under 23 years old will take place on the floor. Cheb sports fans will have the opportunity to see the Czech elite of this Olympic sport's young athletes. The championship will kick off with the junior women's category at 10:30 AM. The entire event is being organised by the weightlifting section of TJ Lokomotiva Cheb.
A dinosaur exhibition in the sports hall
At the beginning of July, dinosaurs will appear on the court of the sports hall instead of athletes. The travelling show and dinosaur exhibition will be in Cheb from 1 to 2 July 2023. The opening hours of the entire exhibition will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Concentration of Karlovy Vary volleyball players and synchronized swimmers from Prague
Cheb's sports facilities will also be used by sports teams from outside the Cheb region during the summer. Traditionally in August, the sports hall will host young volleyball players from the extraleague team VK Karlovarsko, who will be preparing for the new season in Cheb for a whole week. At the turn of August and September, they will be succeeded by a large group of synchronized swimmers from the Prague club SK Neptun Prague. In addition to dry-land training, the synchronized swimming team will also have access to the Cheb swimming pool.
We wish all athletes a pleasant summer and diligent, trouble-free summer training.
